Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pivot & Paper website and the writing, coaching, and career services offered through it (collectively, the "Services"). By ordering from, browsing, or otherwise engaging with the site you accept these Terms.

Pivot & Paper is a two-person editorial studio; the Terms are drafted in plain English and applied with common sense. If anything is unclear, email us and we'll walk you through it.

We provide human-written resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn optimizations, coaching sessions, interview preparation, and related career documents. Each engagement is written or led personally by a founding recruiter.

Deliverables are provided in editable Microsoft Word and PDF format unless otherwise agreed. Coaching sessions are held over video call and, unless recorded at your explicit request, are not archived.

• 01Turnaround times are estimates, not guarantees. Starter and Professional first drafts are typically delivered within 72 hours of a completed intake; Executive and Ultimate engagements within five business days.
• 02Every package includes the revision rounds listed on the pricing page. Additional revisions beyond the included rounds are available at published add-on rates.
• 03We reserve the right to decline engagements that fall outside our editorial scope (e.g., fabricated credentials, non-English languages, or academic dissertations).

All prices are displayed in US dollars. Payment is processed securely by PayPal; Pivot & Paper does not store your card details.

By completing checkout you authorize the total amount to be charged to your chosen payment method. Payment is due in full at time of order.

Occasional promotional pricing is offered at our discretion. Promotions may not be combined or applied retroactively.

Because our work is bespoke and begins with a live intake call, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis in the following way:

• 01Full refund — available if requested within 24 hours of purchase, provided that no intake call has occurred and no draft has been delivered.
• 0250% refund — available if requested after the intake call but before the first draft is delivered.
• 03No refund — once the first draft has been delivered, we credit remaining unused sessions or documents toward future work rather than refund cash.

To request a refund, email cc@pivotpaper.us with your order ID and a short note. We aim to respond within one business day.

You agree to provide accurate, complete, and truthful information during intake — including employment history, dates, credentials, and accomplishments. We do not fabricate or embellish beyond what you provide.

You are responsible for reviewing the delivered documents and requesting revisions within the included revision window (14 calendar days from delivery, unless otherwise stated).

You are ultimately responsible for the use of your deliverables during your job search. Pivot & Paper does not guarantee interviews, offers, or specific employment outcomes.

Upon full payment, ownership of the final deliverables (resume, cover letter, LinkedIn copy, and any custom documents) transfers to you. You may use them freely for your personal job search.

Pivot & Paper retains ownership of underlying frameworks, templates, coaching materials, and methodology. Deliverables may not be resold, sub-licensed, or used to train machine-learning models without our written consent.

We may, in anonymized and aggregated form, use engagement outcomes (e.g., "a client landed a VP role at a Series C startup") in marketing. We will never publish your name, employer, or documents without written consent.

Everything you share during intake, revision, and coaching is held in strict confidence between you and the two founders. We do not distribute intake documents, resumes, or coaching notes to any third party except when required to deliver the Service (e.g., email delivery providers) or by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pivot & Paper's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in question.

Pivot & Paper is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, opportunities, or goodwill.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Pivot & Paper is headquartered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before initiating any formal proceeding, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith by email within thirty (30) days.
